We DO wait all year to celebrate Mardi Gras! And it just so happens that our 2nd Anniversary falls right in the same month, giving us two reasons to call February our favorite time of year!! We also hope to have Crawfish Boils ready to serve up, so come on down to enjoy our festivities:

Please Note: Chef Melton’s 5-course “Aphrodisiac Dinner” on Valentines Day has been canceled. We regret disappointing those of you who had made plans to dine with us, but reservation numbers were low and it was hard to justify the effort and expense we would put into such a special menu. Thanks for your understanding - we hope that we’ve given you enough lead-time to make other plans.
But Sunday Bayou Brunch is always on - so come on down on Valentine’s Day with your loved ones and enjoy that tantalizing menu & the drinks specialties. Our own Jasme Kelly will be serenading the room from 12-2.

CHEF MELTON JOINS "PAULA DEEN & FAMILY" AT DPAC
On Sunday, Feb. 21st, our own Chef Melton will be the on-stage guest local chef for Paula Deen’s Celebrity Chef appearance at the Durham Performing Arts Center!!. “Paula Deen & Family” is the first show in DPAC’s Celebrity Chef Tours this spring - there is both a 2:00 and an 8:30 show this Sunday. Mel & Paula (and her family!) will be preparing 3 items on-stage together: Shrimp & Grits; Pork Tenderloin w/ Pan Sherry Sauce; Chocolate Pecan Cobbler - what a treat it will be to see them on-stage putting these dishes together for the audience! Not only that, Papa Mojo’s Roadhouse will be catering a 3-course VIP Dinner @ 6:00 where Paula Deen will also be on hand for book signing. We’re so proud to be a part of making Paula Deen’s visit to the Triangle an exciting one!
SPICES, MIXES & GRATONS PREMIERING THIS MONTH
Papa Mojo’s will now be selling our own secret spices and more!! We will be premiering our retail line on Sunday, Feb. 7 when Chef Melton has his CLASS at A SOUTHERN SEASON (it is sold out). You’ll now be able to purchase his special Cajun spices, shrimp and grits mix, Gator Nuts, microwavable “Gratons” and more right here at Papa Mojo’s. Stay tuned!
FUNDRAISING FOR HAITI
Papa Mojo’s has aligned itself with WATER MISSIONS INTERNATIONAL in an effort to raise funds for aid to HAITI. Our own Mel Melton is donating all proceeds from any CD sales for this month, his band donated the tip jar proceeds from their show on Jan. 23, and we passed the donation bucket the same night with some very generous donations from our patrons. So far, we have raised over $500 and we’re counting on Mardi Gras guests to help us continue the momentum! Their water tower is still standing in Port-au-Prince and they are successfully shipping water treatment systems to the island!
For the record, when snow & inclement weather comes along, we do our best to stay open and often start the band early (8:00) in order to still have some fun and send folks home early and safely. We thank MATT WALSH for a GREAT early show on Friday, Jan 29 – he & his band invited Clark Stern, TA James, and Mel to sit in with them. For those of us who were there, we won’t forget the special nite of music they gave us - they truly rocked the Roadhouse! (and made it safely home to Statesville, too)

WEDNESDAY = OPEN-MIC NITE
If you haven’t been down for Open Mic Nite at Papa Mojo’s, you need to come on down to enjoy the atmosphere. Host, BRETT CHAMBERS, and his Usual Suspects do a fine job of setting the tone for a great variety-filled show. Music starts at 8:00pm.
As we celebrate our 2nd Anniversary, we especially want to thank you all for coming back again and again to enjoy our Roadhouse, our food, and our musicians -- it’s been an exciting ride for us!
