1st weekend: We persuaded the INSUBORDINAIRES to play together after hearing 3 of them play informally for our boss' birthday! And first-time-in, DUNE DOGS, have a great reputation that precedes them, but can't leave it at that -- they're bringing their friends THE BUSINESS in to expand the second set into a full-fledged play-down.
2nd weekend: Two of this regions favorite hometown teams: Friday will be JON SHAIN TRIO's first time in - and we've been counting the days to enjoy the WILLIE PAINTER BAND again! You just can't lose when you come out to hear either of these two bands --they're real pros.
3rd weekend: Our mid-month highlight includes BLUE MARBLE BEAT (young, savvy, Psychetronic Dub & Soul) and BLUES WORLD ORDER (topnotch Blues pros from the Traid) – two very different shades of blue - and both with noteworthy reputations.
4th weekend: Both of these bands are known for steppin' out and pourin' it on like they were from New Orleans! Come party down with ADRIAN DUKE PROJEK on Friday and MIGHTY LESTER on Saturday.
5th weekend: Halloween comes but once a year and we're ready to get creepy, dark and wacky this year with the BUZZKILLS of Halloween Eve and MEL MELTON & THE WICKED MOJO'S for Halloween Night. Grab your costume and get in the spirit - the 2nd Annual Costume Contest is on Saturday!
As always, you can read up on all of these bands (and link to their web sites) from our music schedule listing.

On Sept. 12th Papa Mojo's had our largest Harmonica Showdown with 4 primo harmonica pros from four different states! It's not often fellow musicians like this have a chance to mix it up together and celebrate their craft with each other on one stage! Thanks go to RJ Mischo, Johnny Sansone, Mel Melton, and Li'l Ronnie Owens for a night we will all remember.

The BOBS gave us one of those performances that leave you wondering just how you could possibly describe it to someone who wasn't there! They had our audience in the palm of their very expressive hands from the first song in. Both vocally adept and witty as a well-versed improv team, they left us with verses bouncing in our brains all the way out the door. If you ever get the chance again, don't miss the BOBS!

The chef award winners of the Best Dish in N.C. contest prepared a seven course wine dinner at Elodie Farms in Bahama, on Sunday evening, September 27. Elodie Farms is a small, artisan cheese farm, owned and operated by New Orleans native, Dave Artiques.
The chefs each took turns creating the dishes that won the prize for their respective restaurants, with all the chefs involved in plating and presenting each dish. Adam Rose, executive chef at Il Palio, in the Sienna hotel, supplied servers and front line staff, and he and Shane Ingram, of Four Square, oversaw the dinner. Chef Melton's band, The Wicked Mojo's, provided entertainment, and the guests were treated to an exceptional experience. The chefs involved were: Patrick Cowden (Weathervane); Lucindy Willis (Yancy House); Mel Melton (Papa Mojo's Roadhouse); Shane Ingram (Four Square); Jason Smith (18 Seaboard); and Adam Rose (Il Palio). A portion of the proceeds from the event went to Children's Flight of Hope, a charity that transports emergency organs to children. **Papa Mojo's Roadhouse Special Events Archive '09**
